I am a Momma through birth, a Step-Momma by marriage, I was a Foster Momma, and I am an Adoptive Momma via foster care adoption. My husband and I have five girls between us, ranging in age from
5-28, 6-29, 7-30. We have four five grandkids, who are from ages one to ten.
My youngest two girls will be a
sophmore Junior in College, done with college, off living the dream with her boyfriend while he pursues his Master’s Degree and a Kindergardenter First Second Grader this year. Such different ends of the spectrum, but at the same time very similar. Both are to an age of learning to spread their wings.
Monkey Soup is our story.

I originally started this blog as a way to connect with other adoptive and foster adoptive parents. In the last almost four years of blogging, Monkey Soup is still occasionally about adoption, foster care and all the things that go along with it, but is primarily about my life. My life as a wife, mother, daughter, and so much more.
My Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer on January 18, 2013. This has changed many things in our lives. Blogging about her diagnosis, and treatment has brought me support in ways I never knew could have existed.
